Cryopump Compressor Installation Tool Kit

The Cryopump, and Compressor are connected together within a closed helium gas circuit. The helium gas is pressurized at the compressor, and is linked to the cryopump with gas supply, and return, S.S. flex hoses. Located at each one of the disconnect points along the gas circuit are self-sealing couplings. These couplings are designed to be disconnected, and reconnected without loosing any of the pressurized gas within the system.
Special wrenches are maufactured to work easily with these fittings. The different sizes are available in a tool kit.

Cryopump Motor Exchange

The Cryopump Drive Motor is the heart of your cryopump system. The location of the motor was designed and manufactured to last the life of your cryo. It was purposely located in the downside of the helium gas circuit.
The helium gas passes through the internal components of the motor after being compressed in the coldhead regenerator where it produces the extremely low temperatures required for your cryopump to freeze the gasses in your chamber, or other enclosure to create a vacuum. As the helium passes through the motor, it helps to keep the hard working motor cool, but it also can deposit any contaminants, like oil or water, into your motor windings, and the motor bearings as well. Routine maintenance of your cryopump is instrumental in keeping any contaminants out of your system, and help to keep your cryopump up and running for an extended period of time. If your motor bearings were replaced with off-the-shelf bearings that were not cleaned, and repacked with special grease, your motor bearings will fail, crashing the motor, shutting down the cryo, and then stopping your process.
The high-pressure helium gas can literally dry out, or evaporate improper grease, and contaminate the rest of your helium circuit.

The cryopump motor can also be the single most expensive piece of your cryopump to replace. You now have an alternative to replacing expensive faulty motors by participating in our motor exchange program.

If your motor is showing signs of failure, or has completely stopped during operation, you can send it in to us for a replacement motor that can simply replace the failed unit. This program was developed to keep your operating cost to a minimum. Call ahead and have your replacement motor on its way, before you have to stop your system, and to keep your down time to a minimum. Each motor comes with a warranty, new hardware, and the special O-Ring seals required to perform the replacement. Return your old motor for repair and credit.

Cryopump Scotch Yoke Bushings

When you look into the sight glass of your cryopump, and notice a black powder residue coating the window, the bearings and other internal parts?

Bad news: Your pump may have been installed with graphite scotch yoke bushings.

Good news: You can now replace those old bushings with a new material developed by DuPont specifically designed for this application. Lightweight, durable, low wear and low friction, bushing material.

Upper and Lower Bushings come with a standard Cryopump Repair Kit for all models.
Or you can purchase the bushings separately.
